Specialty Coffee

For coffee to be labelled as specialty it needs to reach a score of over 80/100 when coffee gets cupped by industry professionals (usually certified graders).

The Brazilian Association of the Coffee Industry (ABIC) introduced a quality rating system based on bean defects:

But it also uses the Especial denomination for Specialty Coffee as defined by the SCA, adopted by the Brazilian Specialty Coffee Association (BSCA).
